AIME
2023
AIME transforms museum and gallery experiences through personalised AI conversational assistants, allowing users to interact with artists about their works. Langchain ensures smooth conversations with safeguards. Users switch between artists seamlessly, and AI models are crafted with digital archives and art historians.
Prototype
The AIME prototype was built using a Langchain framework combined with OpenAI models and custom logic layers for safe, responsive dialogue. We developed artist-specific AI personas using curated datasets drawn from interviews, exhibition texts, and critical essays. Visitors could engage with the system via touchscreen kiosks or their own devices, asking questions like “What inspired this piece?” or “How does this relate to your early work?” The prototype was deployed during an exhibition visit to the Tate Britain, generating rich feedback on tone, accessibility, and creative friction.
Curating Conversations
AIME reimagines how people engage with art — transforming the traditional, passive gallery experience into a dynamic, conversational exchange. Rather than reading static labels or scanning QR codes, visitors can ask questions, follow tangents, and uncover hidden narratives directly from AI versions of artists and curators. It’s a bridge between archival depth and real-time discovery, offering each visitor a deeply personal, curiosity-led journey through the exhibition.
